Updated for the 2020 exhibition: this page will be updated with latest bus and train times nearer the date of the 2022 exhibition.
How do I get there by public transport?
Mainline Services: Southampton Airport Parkway and Eastleigh stations are about 25 minutes walk away from the site (or see bus details below). Both are served by local and long-distance services from London and the South as well as by Cross Country services from further away.
Eastleigh Lakeside Railway: Frequent services from Eastleigh Parkway (ample free parking) to Monks Brook Halt. From the halt it is 5 minutes walk to Chestnut Avenue and Barton Peveril College. Let the (smaller) train take the strain….. The ELR is at Lakeside Country Park, about 5 minutes walk from Southampton Airport Parkway Station. Check out their website here
Bluestar Route 5/5a, (Eastleigh to Romsey, hourly) from Eastleigh station, stops outside the college.
Bluestar Route 2, (Southampton to Fair Oak, half hourly) from Eastleigh station or Southampton has several stops within a few minutes walk of the college. If travelling from Southampton (City Centre/Swathling) alight at The Cricketers Arms pub (Chestnut Ave) and walk to the East along Chestnut Ave to the College. If travelling from Fair Oak or Eastleigh Station alight at the Tennyson Road stop on Derby Road (to the rear of the college) and walk down Tennyson Road to the College entrance. Once in the College keep right and walk round the perimeter road to the main entrance. Both these stops are about 7 minutes walk from the Exhibition entrance.
Bluestar timetables are not yet available for the 18th April on their website. We expect the service to be available on-line from about 30 days before the exhibition. Please check the links above after mid-March for up to date service information.
Xelabus route X4, (Eastleigh to Hedge End, every 2 hours) from Eastleigh station or from Southampton Airport Parkway.
Please note: All Saturday, Sunday & Public Holiday journeys on this route operate direct via Southampton Rd and run past the eastern end of Chestnut Ave. They do not run along Chestnut Avenue to the college itself. Alight at the York Road stop, walk towards Eastleigh and Chestnut Ave is the first road on the left. It is about 10 minutes walk to the college.
Barton Peveril College is located in Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh, Hants. The Tennyson Road entrance will be closed to vehicles on the day of the exhibition.
Set your SatNav to SO50 5BX
There is reasonable parking on site, but if we are really busy there is “pay-and-display” street parking in Chestnut Road. Please note: All vehicles are parked at the owners risk whilst on Barton Peveril College premises. Please do not park in the service road opposite the college.
You Might prefer to use the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway service to Monks Brook Halt as an alternative access. There is plenty of free parking at Lakeside Country Park – see the BY TRAIN section above.
Barton Peveril College is in Chestunt Avenue at the top of the map, Eastleigh Lakeside Railway is in the Lakeside Country Park in the centre and Southampton Airport Parkway station is towards the bottom of the map.22
The exhibition halls are on one floor and are fully wheelchair accessible. The college canteen also on one floor and is located in an adjacent and slightly higher building to the main exhibition. The canteen has external access ramps.
